Agricultural Systems

Visions

for Agricultural Systems of the Future

The sustainable design of agricultural production is one of the central human tasks of the 21st century. In order to pave new paths in agricultural management, eight interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research consortia funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) are researching and testing innovative approaches for the agricultural systems of the future.

"Schaufenster Bioökonomie" at the Hannover Messe 2024

At the joint "Schaufenster Bioökonomie" stand, 20 current research projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) will be presented.

The BMBF funding line "Agricultural Systems of the Future" will be represented by the coordination centre and the DAKIS and NOcsPS consortia. In DAKIS, a unique, digital, knowledge-based tool is being developed to provide land use stakeholders with recommendations for optimising their cultivation systems and improving the sustainability of agricultural landscapes. DAKIS will present the web app "Erospot" developed in the project. The aim of NOcsPS is to use innovative technologies (including drone technology) to develop agricultural production systems that make it possible to dispense with synthetic chemical pesticides while maintaining high productivity. A drone will be presented to demonstrate the drone technology.
