On January 30, bioeconomics, sustainable agriculture and nutrition will be on the schedule instead of math, German or Latin for a group of students participating in this year's nationwide school cinema weeks. Three animated and documentary films then offer cross-age and cross-curricular approaches to discussing fundamental questions about the future: How will we feed the world's growing population, how will we make the necessary transition to a carbon-neutral world? What contribution can the bioeconomy make to this? SUSKULT network coordinator Volkmar Keuter uses the example of the film 2040 - We're Saving the World! to discuss these important topics and questions with the students.

The Science Year 2020 is dedicated to the question of how we can change our current oil-based economy - towards a sustainable use of renewable resources: the bioeconomy! As part of the nationwide SchulKinoWochen, an annual film education project for all types of schools, VISION KINO is presenting a film program for the Year of Science for the ninth time.

On January 30, 2020, Volkmar Keuter, SUSKULT network coordinator will discuss bioeconomy, sustainable agriculture and nutrition with the students using the example of the film 2040 - We're saving the world! to talk and introduce SUSKULT to the students and teachers. The conversation will be moderated by a media educator*.

In the documentary, director Damon Gameau goes in search of people who are developing solutions to ecological problems, such as energy supply, mobility, agriculture or the design of inner cities. From ideas that have so far only been realized on a small scale, the documentary filmmaker shapes a grand vision for a livable future world.
