At the Future Workshop on Agriculture and the Food Industry 2023 on 25 January 2023, Mario Brandenburg, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), presented the consortia of the BMBF funding measure "Agricultural Systems of the Future" as examples of transdisciplinary research approaches and different models of thinking in agriculture.

In his keynote speech on "Scenarios for a sustainable agricultural economy - the importance of transdisciplinary research approaches in social dialogue", State Secretary Brandenburg explained the approaches of the "Agricultural Systems of the Future" consortia and pointed out the importance of research for the transformation of agricultural systems. At the same time, researchers must also think about the transfer of technologies into practice. The scalability of the innovations developed is important here.

The future workshop on the topic of "Agricultural and food systems in transition - perspectives for food production with global responsibility" took place as part of the International Green Week 2023 in the CityCube Berlin.
